  1. Muse Plays The Burbs

Not entirely. But hey, we Burbs fans don't get much news. Maybe this is more suited for the music section but it's somewhat Burbs related. I was watching Muse perform at V-Fest on TV and heard a familiar theme. My Burbs site incorrectly refers to the theme played while Ray and Art walk to...
  2. 66...9?

Them has kind of a lame title - but it's an attempt to rename a French film, so... And despite lacking any substantial gore, sex, or language, it's rated R - I'm guessing due to intensity. It's a very simple movie with just a few characters. My guess is that if you liked the other films...
  3. 66...9?

Marytrs was part of my tour de French horror. Yeesh. I've heard of Irreversible but have not seen it. My exploration of French horror was kind of exhausting for a 2 day period so I decided to move on. Is it worth checking out? I can't quite say I enjoyed Martyrs or Inside but watching them...
  4. 66...9?

A few years ago I watched High Tension (Haut Tension) and I recently decided to explore more of the "new wave" of French horror films. "Inside" was one of the more notable movies in the sub-genre so I checked it out (it's not for the squeemish!). Anyway, the main characters house # is 666 but...

  6. The 'Burbs Deluxe soundtrack

You guys with your CD-Rs and MP3s don't know how good you have it. Back when I got the original soundtrack, I had to buy it from some guy in Australia with a money order. CD-Rs weren't really popular yet. I figured I had about a 75% chance of actually getting it and luckily it did arrive.
  7. A challenge

Actually - you're right, that worked. Huh, whenever I quote the movie with friends it seems that any line is funny when said in the real world but apparently there are exceptions.
  8. A challenge

Can anyone find a quote from the movie that isn't funny? It can't just be a segment of dialog like "the" or "of." It needs to be a proper quote of 2 words or more (Example: "Oh, Ray!" - but that's funny). Regardless of the quote, I feel like I find humor in it and I'm just wondering if there's...
  9. Home Video Trailer

I decided to do a little...snooping around...and found this: http://www.videodetective.com/movies/THE_BURBS/trailer/P00001119.htm Is this what the link above was? I was hoping for some additinoal deleted footage like with got with the trailer.
  10. Home Video Trailer

This YouTube video is now gone. What was it? Was it just the trailer from the DVD or was it different?
  11. The 'Burbs Deluxe soundtrack

So who all ended up getting one of these? Luckily, I happened to go to the Varese Sarabande website out of the blue just before they sold out and got a copy.
  12. A new site

So after re-logging into the Mayfield Place Burbs site, I got a notice that GeoCities is going down soon. I suppose this was a good time for an update. So I wanted to ask you guys - what are some things you'd like to see on a new Burbs site?
  13. The rarest of the rare

So what's the rarest item you have? The soundtrack (both of them now!) is a great find. One thing I saw on eBay WAAAAY back when (or rather read - pictures were rare on eBay back then since digital cameras weren't really available) was some kind of a trashcan/postcard item. The description...
  14. Hinkley Hills was much smaller then

Hey all - so great to see so much activity surrounding The Burbs! Who is still around for the original board way back when? For whatever reason, I didn't know things were still so active here. There are so many topics I need to go through. I'll probably start responding to all kinds of old...
