While we're talking about Tom Hanks ...

Most of my family really likes the movie "A League of Their Own." Long story short ... we get in some heated arguments over whether or not Dottie drops the ball on purpose at the end of the World Series.

For those of you out there who have seen the movie ... What are your thoughts on the topic?

Yep, she dropped it on purpose so her kid sister could get the praises. By the way, I think Tom was great in this movie.

I've never seen "A league of their own". I've, I've never seen that.

Our family is split right down the middle, but I believe that she did not drop the ball on purpose.

My thoughts: Throughout the film, Dottie does not give anything away to Kit for free. Dottie gives Kit opportunity ("a chance to shoot"), but does not give away achievements.

As an example: In the last play of the game, Dottie tells the pitcher exactly what pitch to throw to strike out Kit. If Dottie wanted to give Kit a hollow victory, she would not have called for the high fastballs.
