Rumsfield always struck me as a collector of military memorabilia. I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I can see Mark collecting stuff like ribbons, old weapons etc...

This brings me to our neighborhood. Do we have any collectors here?
I can start with myself and tell you that I collect cologne/perfume (~ 200) and wristwatches (~ 50).

How about you?

I was obsessed with Hardy Boys books as a kid - I used to get caught reading them during class in 3rd/4th grade.

Fast forward to my first job out of college - I found out that the early books had been re-written in the 1960s for various reasons.

- They removed some racial/ethnic stereotypes and language that had become clearly offensive

- In the original books, the Hardy Boys were more questioning of authority figures, particularly the police (who were often portrayed as less competent). In the edited books, the Hardy Boys became less critical and more allied with police.

- They also "dumbed it down" to reach a slightly younger audience.

Once I found out that the books changed over the years, I started collecting vintage editions. So I have some of my favorites that were released in the late 1920s and early 1930s. There's variations in the dust jackets, covers etc. that you can follow over the years.

I don't actively collect them anymore, but I always keep an eye out if I'm in an antique store in case there's any good finds.

That's a great thing to collect :)

Those are both some interesting collections!

My biggest collection is in my garage where my car should be. About 9 years ago I started collecting Arcade games from the 1980's. I have the following in there, most working, some under construction:

Pole Position
Defender
Ms. Pacman
Joust
Missile Command
Donkey Kong Jr.
Frogger
Centipede
Altered Beast
Attaxx (90's era)

That's fantastic. If you have the time I would love to see a picture.
This is something of a childhood dream :)
