Carl Sagan's "pale blue dot" speech

I just read an article about the two Voyager spacecraft which started in 1977 to explore our universe. In 1990, Carl Sagan, in charge of the mission, decided that one of the Voyager probes - now more than 6 billion kilometers away from earth - should take one last look back and ordered to turn the probe 180 degrees so that it could take a last picture of earth.

The picture inspired him to a great speech which I would like to share with you. It's kind of inspiring and managed to make me think:

I remember reading about that and recall he had to do some sales work to heads at NASA as the engineers did not want to risk turning the probe around for a photo op.

Glad they did.
