Just wanted to mention my cat: "THEAKSTON". Theak's cool. He's mah best buddy. We've been through so much together. I've had him about 14 years now. He's a long-haired black cat. Uber-cool. Great climber etc... When I used to visit the first Burbs board, back in the day, say Summer 1997, Theak would often just take off into the woods and become part-ferral. Oh, I'd go for a walk every night, sometimes in fog, at all hours if I wasn't sleeping..."yah yah Paris France...Banff Canada" just to check if he was okay. Sure enough, he'd be in the middle of the woods. When I called him (or tapped his food tin with a spoon if he'd been gone too long) he'd meow just to let me know he's okay. Sometimes he'd go missing for several days and me being me I'd worry. But eventually he came home. Dishevelled. Unkempt. Badly needing a good grooming etc. Then he'd spend the night without leaving my side having eaten twice the normal feed of cat meat. Then he'd be off again. LOL. What a life!
I remember one evening I went for a walk into the woods to think; for a moment of clear space and fresh air, to ponder an important decision I had to make. Theak jumped out of nowhere and sat with me on a log! I'll never forget that. Like, middle of nowhere in the woods. I hadn't called him! He often bought totally unharmed baby rabbitts home. I'd have to get dressed in the middle of the night and release them. Yep, I'm a soft touch. And if ever I'm ill, like really ill, he never leaves my side.
Theak just totally rules. He loves spicy food, he loves to be fussed but get this: Theak is unreal when we get a thunderstorm. Most cats will either run off somewhere like under the bed, or they'll cling to the ceiling. Not Theak. He will wake up...groom himself in preparation...then deliberately go out through his flap and sit there awaiting the storm!!!!!! He wails at the lightning and thunder. Just sits there in the pouring rain. Unreal?!? Then he'll come in, have a towel-down and he'll be all chilled again. And he looks like a punk cat when wet!
He'll also show you he's really p*ssed off when we get back from holidays. Won't acknowledge anything we say at all LOL. THEAKSTON RULES!
How about y'all cats!
