Has anyone else watched The Burbs in WinDVD software with TrimensionDNM (All2HD in the latest version) enabled? Trimension interpolates between frames to increase the framerate - and it's amazing how much more detail ou can see during camera pans etc.

Also some of the audio enhancements can bring out subtles aspects of the soundtrack as well - such as people talking in the background off camera.

People talking in the background of the camera? Can you please give a little example? I hope it's not the crew you can hear!?

For example, the garbies are arguing and you can hear "this could be the key to your..." (existence?)

Or when they're talking about digging in the back yard the previous night, you can hear "the FBI?" "no, the Klopeks" - but this one is actually subtitled.

Ah, thanks. I bet you also hear all those background noises like the singing birds, passing cars and so on in much more detail.

Do I need some special hardware to use WinDVD with TrimensionDNM?

Yes, background noises are more pronounced. The dog barking when the foreigners were making all that racket is much clearer. Maybe it's not as the director/producer intended, but on the other hand it's only a 2-channel Dolby Stereo soundtrack, which limited how much they could put into the surround channel anyway. Enhancing it actually sounds pretty good. It'd be great if one day we get a Special Edition DVD with a 5.1 track. Or better than that a Blu-ray edition. We can live in hope.

As for TrimensionDNM, it doesn't require any special hardware - just a processor faster than ~2.0GHz to run smoothly.
