Hello everybody,
I'm a Dutch fan, so forgive me if my English isn't always so good. I just love the movie The 'Burbs. I watch it every time my summer holidays begin (which is now). I love the movie because of the dark/horror like humor, in the Netherlands we would call this movie "grumor", which is a combination of the Dutch words "humor" and "gruwel", meaning "humor" and "spooky". I also like the amazing Tom Hanks & Carrie Fisher combination, and I love all the characters in the movie. My favorite quote is from mister Rumsfield: "That really burns my ass...", and "there go the goddamned brownies". The small role of Robert Picardo, for me best known from his role of The Docter from Star Trek: Voyager and his amazing performance in Gremlins 2 is also great.
I don't know if you have a 'Burbs-fan from the crazy Netherlands here on this forum. Here in the Netherlands where we drive mostly stick shift cars, pay about two times more than Americans for our gasoline. We measure our distances in kilometers instead of miles and allow soft drugs to be used and sold in so-called "coffee shops". I live in Rotterdam (not to be confused with the larger Amsterdam), the second largest city of the Netherlands. If you have any questions about my froggy lowland, please feel free to ask me.
Greetings from the Netherlands
