Hair joke?

It sure was damp today.

Yes, I can't seem to do anything with my hair.

Can anybody explain to me what this meant? Was it supposed to be surreal or something? When I first saw this film I didn't get it and I still don't!
 
I think it was just something to say in a very awkward situation. I don't think that was the best thing to say on Bonnie's behalf. lol.
 
Yeah when she said it she realised it was a boring and obviously desperate thing to say LOL
 
lol. The look on her face was as if she were mentally slapping herself across the face for saying that. After that she kind of avoided eye contact with Rueben or a while.

Well I feel she wasn't thinking, just felt uncomfortable and it slipped out. Plus you need to understand, that moisture and hair, specifically curly hair(coming from one who knows...) don't really mix well. It causes frizz...which is one thing i hate about Florida. The humidity. Although I have learned to tame it, so I think I could give Bonnie a few tips. ;)
 
Yeah...is driving to the ocean 4 hours of driving on the toll-way in holiday traffic?
