Good question. He was once flying a JU-52. But I don't know what he's flying on the pics. I'll post a photo tomorrow which will show you the plane in total, maybe you can identify it.
 
If I can, I would be glad to. I have a Jane's WW2 Aircraft Encyclopedia somewhere. (I think it is a Jane's)
