House of the Devil

Has anyone seen the movie House of the Devil? It is a modern horror film that is reminiscent of 80s films, and it's directed by Ti West(who is a huge fan of The Burbs).

He also made The Innkeepers, another great horror film. You should check them out!

Same here, I like these retro-style movies. Unfortunately it's not available on the portals I'm registered on but as soon as it becomes, I'll check it out.

I didn't like it at all, It started out all mysteriously but the final act was a huge let down for me.

I finally got around to watching this tonight, and I loved it. I can see why some people might dislike the last 15 minutes and let that affect what they think of the whole film, but I think it worked.

The 80's vibe was handled perfectly. I'm not sure I've ever seen a modern horror film pull off the 80s this well. I had to check 20 minutes in to make sure it really was made in 2009.
