This is always my fate. I never get to attend the fun stuff. I'm in Northern California, but would have glady pulled the trigger on the ticket for the 1 hour flight to Portland to watch The 'Burbs in 35mm with Joe Dante in attendance and doing a Q and A.

But this is would be many hours in the Easter Holiday traffic to sit in this dank dark theater and wait for the guy with the enormous head to speak about his movie. .*crushes a beer can in each hand*

Well hell; for grins I clicked the link tonight to buy tickets, the day they became available, and its sold out.

It's a shame that events like this never get exposed to the larger fan base. I'd kill to watch the Q and A session.

I'm pissed because in the last Q and A the fans asked useless questions to Joe, I know you would have asked him good questions.

Dang, it would be great if one of our board members ever had the chance to participate in one of such screenings. If this ever happens in Germany (likelihood 0%) I will gladly do so.

What questions would you ask Dante or any other member of the cast/crew? We should create a running list and then guess what the answers would/could be

Woah Hey man, welcome to the street Steve Kunts.

Missing Day reasons would be good for sure and if there is any hope of this footage being around somewhere in a vault? The Barkelow kid? Archie Hahn as the Mailman?

I'd ask about his big haircut he had during filming. What the motivation was for going from big hair to a shorter, more regular do.

What happened to Dave in the end? How come he never came back from seeing Evelyn and the Cousins? I know Rudy is a Moron and Diane smells, so he's for sure not spending the night there.

Did he keep any memorabilia from the movie? props etc?

Keep 'em coming!

I've been following this cool site for awhile now and hope to see at least some of you in Portland tomorrow.

I still can't believe the waves of affection generated toward this picture in the face of the almost universally negative reviews it generated in 1989!

PS: I like it too!

Cmon man! pic or it didn't happen! This is the Internet!

Your neighbors need photographic evidence or a tweet before we all fall to pieces here!
