Dear Burbanites, it's Burbs Day 2022! Time again to cram out your DVD or Blu-Ray, crack a few beers, fix the BBQ and watch your favorite movie again.

In my case it's actually been a while. Haven't watched The Burbs since Burbs Day 2021 so it's about time. And I'm really looking forward to it. With all the sh*it going on around the world it's time to forget about all this and escape into Mayfield Place for 90 minutes.

I hope you enjoy it, too!

I am GMT -8 so just a bit before the big day. I have found the perfect double feature, or at least primer for The ‘Burbs. Currently watching “The People Under the Stairs” . So many same vibes.

Tomorrow I plan to watch The ‘Burbs with the fam and fall asleep watching the exorcist.

We live in a clown world now
and this is only the beginning.
So agreed The 'Burbs is the
perfect way to escape from it.

Yea, that's a bummer for sure. Valiant effort on your part though. I hadn't even considered this was thing until you mentioned it. So I will be on the lookout going forward.

Man, that was great. It was just about time for this little escapism. Went to bed with a big smile on my face. The Burbs never fails to amuse me.

And I just realized there are things I didn't notice until I watched it for the 100th time. At the end, after Ricky says his "God I love this street" sentence, do you know who he's walking up to? The garbagemen! Yeah, you can see a person who seems to be Dick Miller in that final shot and Ricky slaps his back. For some reason this never caught my attention until yesterday.

I think user Uncle Reuban mentioned it in a very old post, I've been reading the old posts recently, Dick is there with (maybe) Robert Picardo and Gary Hays around a trashcan. Well spotted anyway guys , I've never seen that.

Thanks, we will need some magic or a sacrifice or two ;)
