Still I wonder why in Germany people younger than 16 are not allowed to see the movie. Isn't it a little too extreme?

That seems pretty old (agewise) for a fairly innocuous movie . In the US, I guess it would be the language. Not horrific when compared to a lot of movies but probably enough to push it to a PG.

Mhm, and even when the DVD was released in 2004 there was no adjustment in the rating (which from my understanding would have been possible).
