Movies made for a reason

It's not anything I've ever heard anyone discuss, but it's something that came to my mind whilst out walking the dog (yeah, yeah, taking the dog for a walk).

But I kinda got to thinking that, whenever something becomes something that people talk about to do with being 'top secret', a movie is made about it - and usually the movie is either silly or over-the-top. But once made, if you start to talk about the issue, people immediately go "oh not that stupid movie" and that's that. Recently I'm talking about 2012. A special effects extravaganza. But there are real issues behind 2012. The Mayans, the I-Ching, Nostrodamus...and others...all point to that year being the last. But the movie has made the topic in general conversation nul and void.

In the past...The Philadelphia Experiment. A real event, I read about it years ago in a book by Charles Berlitz and William Moore. They made a crap movie about it. Then there's the mysterious 'men in black'...loads of people talking about them...hey presto! a silly movie made and that's that one in the bag.

I dunno, just seems a coincidence. I'm sure there are others. Close Encounters can't be slammed, nor Fire In The Sky as they are cool movies :)

I know what you're talking about, I feel the same way.

On a side note, personally I feel Fire in the Sky was a good movie.

and 2012, I didn't bother seeing it... I bet it's not great either. Hey...it's gonna be 2012 in 2 years... are you thinking what the Mayans are thinking? lol....

It's a matter of what you believe these directors are up to. Let's not forget that they are part of the media industry. TV and cinema are media which are capable of affecting your opinions and manipulating the way you think. So if the big media bosses which are all part of groups like the Bilderbergers decide to ridicule the 2012 subject they simply have to tell Emmerich to make a silly popcorn flick about it. And I think it worked, many ordinary citizen seem to forget about the real 2012 subject. Directors like Emmerich also frequently use masonic symbols in their movies, search on youtube for it and you'll find a few examples.

I recently saw the movie "The imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". A weird movie filled with so many masonic symbols that you can not overlook them. It was Heath Ledger's last movie before he died. And in the movie itself he was found hanging underneath a bridge with the pyramid with the all-seeing eye painted on his forehead. I couldn't believe my eyes. Coincidence? I don't think so.

I'm glad like-minded people are out there lol

I'd like to dismiss the 2012 thing, but it's just too compelling. The Mayans were incredible astronomers, astrologers and mathmeticians. Have you ever seen their calendar??? It's four calendars in one, incredibly complex. Then the I-Ching. Totally separate time, location, cultures and civilizations...

Sometimes I think that such movies go along with the idea that if you want to keep something secret, just publish it on a billboard.

It reminds me of the scene from "High Anxiety"

They're trying to sneak by security, so they choose to be loud and annoying, rather than conspicuous.
