Anyone got any neighborhoods that look kind of like Mayfield place? Mountains for backyards, creepy houses, odd cul-de-sacs?

Google this address -- this little part of Ahwatukee, Arizona always reminds me of the burbs.

13869 South 32nd Place, Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Yeah, I sort of live in a "Cul-De-Sac" neighborhood, with the Wikipedia meaning of the word *dead-end street, since no one can drive PAST it, but has to turn around when they've driven to it's end.

While most of our houses are made of yellow & redstone bricks, they have their own personality, won't be posting any images yet, but I can describe it.

My House:
Sort of cozy type of house, grandma would love it, Vogue magazine readers would just hate it. I find it lovely, weird...and something of an observation tower (watchtower) and it sort of resembles Rumsfields house (you know, the scene where he stands in the dark, back-lit, smoking a cigar and peruse the neighborhood at night)
I can see everything from everywhere in my house, it's really neath, the perfect SPY tower...looks cute and innocent from the outside, has tons of trees and growth around it, and inside it's freaking huge. Really WEIRD house, but I love it here.

(Cue military music here)

The next door houses:

One of them belongs to this nice old lady who's old enough to be your great-great-grandmother and probably saw the war back in the days in person, it's a neat version of my house, but with a lower roof, and much less view of the hood, she's blind as a bat, well..almost anyway, she cares for her garden like old people do, you KNOW how attached old people are to their things.

The other next door house is kind of creepy, there are people who rent in that house, meaning...it's the only HOUSE in this street that isn't owned by the people living there, and you can sort of tell from the stuff they throw in the yard, people talk...you know, "when are these people gonna clean up...mumble mumble..." They've got this HUGE creepy dog that comes out and pees several gallons of pee right on the curb every day so it's never quite dry, and doesn't want to be petted by anyone but his own family, creepy stuff... the husband that lives there, reluctantly greet anyone, he's shy like HANS and like to keep to himself, he kind of look like a giant version of "Pinocchio Hans", he does greet me now...after I helped them out with some computer stuff one day, but you know...if he can avoid it...he'd rather prefer not to....kind of creepy...

The Houses across the street:

I call it the "mech-side" of the street, there are two houses there, with younger people that just LOVES cars, kind of Hill-billy people that just loves to cruise around in old American cars, collect odd things like old campers'n'stuff... They don't seem to care for how their house look, and you'd think he'd do something about his yard...?!

The one right across me, is a spooky fella, kind of nice to talk to if you ever get to talk to him, but he loves to party inside his house with Death Metal only...kind of like RICKY...but just ...much OLDER...and STILL playing it hard ...rock on dude, he orders the pizza dude a lot, and some mysterious activities around his camper, people come and go all the time, wonder what they're doing in there....don't know...won't ask either, what goes on in or hood - stays in our hood (except for the description of my neighborhood of course) :D

Then there is this really OLD house with a roof that doesn't look like it has been changed since it was made, a roof tile was off the roof, and they didn't do ONE THING about it ALL WINTER. It belongs to another old lady who's said to be rich, owns several houses...and I once asked her if she'd sell the place, but she said...don't know...I think I'll hold on to it, it's grande, it's so elegant...I could not bare to lose it, and besides...if people doesn't want to pay enough for it...I WONT SELL IT!!! Grrr... She turned a bit grumpy when I mentioned selling it, as if she was a neighbor...but she really isn't, because the house is empty most of the year, no one ever goes there...The bushes grows wildly, and it's kind of creepy.

The rest of the Street:

Next to my next door (or should I say, next house...as we all have detached houses, well...not the new neighbors in the END of the street but....more about that later), our ORIGINAL street that is, okay?! Fine... there is this dude that just likes to play rich, he's fixing his house ALL THE TIME, he's our very own WALTER, he's got the BEST LAWN ON THE BLOCK, and you KNOW WHY...

And then there is the spookhouse at the far end of the street, this house is sometimes used by the children from the child home across, we don't know what strange things that goes on there, but rumors have it that it's some kind of mental facility for children with issues, sort of a correction facility, sometimes firetrucks and police shows up there, and some of the kids come out...but we don't know more about it...the childrens home is very big, run by some foreigners that never greet us, not once...they just drive back & forth in dark/black shiny cars, especially at night...

Spooky...

This reads as if one could make a movie about that neighbourhood, too.
