Okay, I love horror. I have a lot of modern and original horror films on video and DVD.
People often say to me "What's the scariest film you've ever seen?"
That's a funny question because, things like stalker/slasher/backwoods redneck cannibal movies don't 'scare' me at all. I find them entertaining. And I always know that there's a guy holding a camera filming.

Psycho I remember seeing when I was about 8. That shower scene. Jeez. And a film called DEEP RED (Profundo Rosso) scared me too.

I remember when my wife was in hospital having given birth to our baby in 2003. I remember that night when I got home alone, I grabbed a Chinese takeaway, got on the settee with the quilt and lined up some movies to watch as I was buzzing with adrenaline! I watched The Ring, I watched "The 100 scariest moments" on TV. And I was fine. BUT. The one DVD I would not watch is THE WOMAN IN BLACK. So, I guess that tells me that that is the scariest movie for me.

There's no blood, gore, swearing, etc. It's a traditional ghost story. Very atmospheric. We went last year to see the stage play. About sh*t myself. So I would personally say "The Woman In Black" for my scariest film.

What's your scariest film?

A parting shot: scene from The Woman In Black:

Must rent. I'm a chicken so if you say it's scary, then it may send me to the institution. hahaha That's how much a frady cat I am.(What are you, a frady cat?)

One of the recent effective scary movies is Shutter (2004) which was indeed able to creep me out in a couple of scenes:

Another one that I GUARANTEE will creep you out is [REC] (2007) a true spanish horror gem.

Plot: In Barcelona, the reporter Ángela Vidal and the cameraman Pablo are covering the night-shift of local fire station. When the firemen receive a distress call from a lady in a building, Ángela and Pablo go in the firefighter truck with the firemen Manu and Álex with Pablo recording each step. When they arrive in the building under siege of the police, they find the hysterical dwellers gathered in the lobby in the entrance and they hear screams upstairs. Manu and Álex go upstairs with two policemen and followed by Ángela and Pablo, and they find an aggressive old lady that attacks one policeman. When they return to the lobby, they find that they are sealed in the building and trapped with the residents in the beginning of a chaotic and nightmarish night.

Trailer (spanish):

Both movies are worth it!

The freaking clown in Poltergeist still freaks me out!

ARGH! Pennywise in Stephen King's IT! "Hello Georgie Boy!" eugh

I have a fear of 3 things:

Clowns
Dwarfs
Mouldy food

There I said it.

I'm well known for it, especially clowns and dwarfs. A dwarf clown eating mould is my vision of Hell.

That Poltergiest clown freaked me out big time when I was a kid.
I'm still very wary of all clowns because of it.

I recently saw a Family Guy episode which spoofed Poltergeist and also the Clown-scene. In this case Ronald McDonald was sitting there, forming the big "M" with his hands.
