I guess this is just a common case of stock sound effects....

When Ray, Art, and Mark are spying on the Klopek house with the infrared scope, there is a sound effect as the Klopek's furnace is shutting down. The same sound effect is used in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom right after Indy realizes that the plane is out of fuel.

There is also the one that is the same as the Millenium Falcon when it fails to go into Hyperspace or whatever.

When I flushed the toilet at work a weird noise came from it like when Rummy taps the Klopek's conduit.
