The Burbs 2`???

I don't think so and it surely isn't a credible source but I took this from the imdb - page:

To me this sounds like a totally brilliant idea...
I so far like all the cast mentioned!!!
They should rush this into production as soon as possible so they can make it a perfect brilliant 20 year follow-up!!!

Let's hope there's some truth behind this. Damn, even if they make it Straight-to-DVD.

hypothetical question
If they did make the Burbs 2, and they asked us to name the movie,
what would you sugest? I've thought of two good ones,

"Back to The Burbs"

 or

"Return to Mayfield Place"

"The Burbs 2" just seems plain and ordinary to me.

I can't see it working even if they did. It wasn't a huge picture when it was originally made (which helped make it cult status for dudes like us), and it was mainly down to Tom Hanks' name attached to it that it did anything at the box office.

It'd be like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 2. A nothingness.

I remember back in 2001, someone used to visit the old board and she did a superb piece of writing for a sequel. I know myself and SFADan read it and thought it was very good. But er...we don't know where the hell she is.

You are right. On the one hand it is a cool idea, on the other hand there's the danger of making it too lousy. C-class actors, straight-to-DVD. No Dante/Olsen participation.

Plus, we as Burbanites have high expectations. We're like...Trekkies you know?
