One thing I have tried to do is get one person who hasn't seen the movie to watch it. This has been easy lately because my cousins who are 7-8 recently watched it and they like it.

I also have 2 pretty decent sized framed THE BURBS movie posters and they are great conversation pieces and usually spark peoples interest who come over.

Do you guys think you can get one person who hasn't seen the movie to watch it this year?

Heheh, I like that. Challenge accepted. With 5 1/2 months until the end of the year this should be possible.

That's easy - I got an entire CLASS at a school to watch it. Many of the became fans of the movie ;)

Done!

My new girlfriend watched it with me on 'Burbs Day :D

She thought it was good, but she doesn't seem hooked...

... yet!

When it was on TV a few weeks ago my mum watched The Burbs for the first time. She'd seen bits of it before, but never all of it. She watched it mainly to see why I never stop talking about it :) Actually, she liked it. She could quicly see the appeal of repeated viewings (the whole mood/suburban USA in the 80s thing).

I've told her she has to watch it again, this time on my DVD, to see all the great stuff that was cut out for daytime TV.

So that might count for getting one person to watch The Burbs this year. I'll do my best to get someone else to watch it sometime before the year's over.

Oh, and RickyButler, I've got 2 Burbs posters too, limited editions that I got a couple of months ago. I'm waiting until October to unpack/frame them for the new house I'm moving into. Maybe at some point after October someone will see them hanging up and I can talk them into watching the film!

Hey fellas

Very cool to those of you who have completed the challenge. Over the years I've introduced this movie to many new people and really I've never had anyone who didn't like it. The Burbs as you guys know is the kind of movie that grows on you. It's impossible to pick everything up in one or even 10 viewings. Amazing stuff.

Waiting for Ray Peterson to complete the challenge. Knowing him he's probably outside in a lawn chair right now with a 6 pack of beer napping.. LETS GO!!

I thought of a couple GEMS of movies I will be posting under the movies like The Burbs section. MUST WATCH for anyone who hasn't seen them..

I'm going to reel in another burbanite here soon. My Girlfriend who I've been dating for roughly 5 months is finally going to watch it. You guys might be asking what the hell is taking so long? Well, You gotta make them care about you before they find out what a loser you really are , that's all I got..

LOL thanks again guys

I'm looking foreard to hearing what they are. Hopefully some that I've never heard about. Although it's also good to be reminded of some of the forgotten ones!

She isn't called Gail, is she? You should sit on lawn chairs and watch it on the porch.
