The 'Burbs on 80's Rewind

Really cool site with lots of information. Thanks or the link.

Did you read that about Rick Ducommun being a skateboard pioneer. That is hard to imagine, but the cool part is where Steve Kountz is wearing one of his company's shirts. That is one thing great about the movie - all the very subtle references. I wonder how many there are that we haven't found.

Topic for a post?

I cannot believe the amount of hidden stuff we are finding out nearly 20 years after the picture was made!

That means: in 2009 we will not only celebrate "Burbs Day 2009" but also the 20th anniversary of its release!

And since "The Burbs" was shot in the summer of 1988 you can almost say it's indeed already 20 years old.

Indeed, you could. At this time in 1988, maybe they were casting the movie, building sets, who knows, maybe even shooting some of the scenes.

The scenes are too big for the birdfeeder...

Yeah, weird to comprehend! Two whole decades!!!!!! And it gets better and better with each watching!

It's superb when you're in a situation where you don't expect anyone to say anything, but on a recent night out we were eating a meal and talking about our favourite movies. I said mine was the burbs and some woman shouted WALTER!!!! LOL I was speechless!

Did you at least shout "Hey, visit www.runboard.com/btheburbs for more!" across the restaurant?
