After watching the movie for the 800th time I got to think about something. When Art and Ray talk while having breakfast at Ray's house they mention the Napps. Art mentions that the Napps where semi-normal, and that they took care of their lawn. This makes me believe that the lawn looked, at least, semi-good when the Napps lived there.

So my taught is how it's possible for the Klopeks lawn to look that hideous after only 1 month? Even if they didn't take care of it at all the lawn should look better then that? The Klopeks lawn looks like it was deserted 30 years ago.

What do you think about it dear neighbors?

Well, there a few possibilities.

-Landru pees all over the yard, thus causing the grass to die.
-The Knapps never fertilized in the spring
-The Klopeks are dumping some kind of toxic waste out into their yard
-The flashes of heat emitted from the furnace are burning the grass
-The set designer wanted it to look that way

Ah, I've got it. Ray takes Vince to pee in the Klopek's yard. The first time he doesn't is in the movie when he is going to take him to Art's. So I don't know why Ray is complaining, it's his fault!

Haha great response! :D

I have wondered this to. I thought it would have been more realistic to have made them live there about 3 months and it be spring. A winter could have explained it. i guess sit was a overlook from the writers of the movie. I guess for us ,,the heat from the furnace would be a good explanation..
