My Dad and I went to the "Great Oregon Steam Up" today which has a whole bunch of old steam-powered tractors, trains and really old cars. Today was very fun. My favorite part was the WWII exhibit, I'm a WWII nut...

Okay, I'm five-foot-seven and BARELY taller than the wheel of this old tractor.

How was everybody else's day? Good I hope!

Um........that's a little strange, isn't it? :)

Panzer Lied, anyone? Ob's stürmt oder schneit...

I always thought that the German WW2 uniforms had a certain style to them and I am about as anti-Nazi as you can get. Most of the German soldiers were young conscripts who fought more for their comrades than the ideology - at least that is what I have heard. I am a WW2 nut, too. Nothing is more beautiful than a P 38.

Was that a mountain howitzer?

You like my pants? Thanks, I think... lol. :)

I think anyone would fight for their country if they knew (or were told) that their way of life was in danger.

I always liked the look of the German dress uniform from WWII, especially the officers'.

To be honest, I have no idea what kind of gun that is, it was just sitting there. There was a shell for it right on the other side, I don't think that was such a good idea just leaving it there like that. ;)

...yeah...what with all the terrorism eh..........
*coughs*

Our neighbor (well when we lived out at Grandma's)- still their neighbor is really into those steam engines I think they have a dozen of them which they travel al over the place to the shows. The best part about the weekend when I was growing up was hearing one start up and then the whistle and I would drop everything and head outside to be picked up for my ride. I loved it. They are neato burrito if you ask me.

Glad you had fun
