Yeah that sucks man. I feel your pain. 3 years ago George Carlin did a comedy show in Zanesville, only a 20 minute drive from me, but I couldn't go that night. I'm still kicking myself for missing it!

George Carlin was a comic master and genius. He will go down in history as one of the true legends of stand up.
 
I totally agree with you Art. Did you catch his cameo appearance in the movie Dogma? He played a priest and was still funny.
 
The best thing about George beside how funny he was, was how smart he was. A lot of the things he said had a lot a merit. If you want to read a funny book, read his "When will Jesus bring the pork chops". Funny stuff.
 
He was very, very switched on, even when he was late in years. And his word-for-word repertoire was amazing. Never stumbled.
