What are my Neighbors thoughts on the new art work and case designs for the blu-ray?

True. I remember when I first watched the trailer on youtube a couple of years ago I wondered if this was a completely different movie.

There are also many photos which have been made for hanging them out in front of the cinema (I hope you know what I mean as I'm not finding the English translation :) ). Anyway, these photos ALSO mostly consist of scenes that never made it into the movie. These include a scene with Ray and Art digging in the Klopek's yard and finding an object which on the photo looks like a bomb or something like that (or is it just a bottle?):

I hope they also include this on the Blu Ray.

Here's one more that seems unfamiliar to me (when did Art wear this shirt and who is the guy on the upper right with the strange hat):

I wonder what that thing is that they dug up in the Klopek's yard? And it even looks like maybe Art finally did some digging of his own!

As for that second picture, I don't remember seeing Art in that shirt in any scene. And I don't think Rumsfield was dressed like that in the film either, was he? But Ray and Ricky are seen in those clothes. I think that blue shirt that Ray has on is the one he's wearing when he's watching Jeopardy with Carol.

The man in the background looks like a mailman...

I wonder if the original screenplay would explain some of these scenes? Like the BBQ scene and the thing they dig up in the garden, or maybe if there was ever a mailman in it? I ask because a few days ago I found someone selling an original copy of the screenplay. Not a copy, a genuine one from 1989 that was used by either cast or crew. I've bought other collectable stuff from the man selling the screenplay so i trust him, so I bought it. I'll be happy to share anything I learn! I've wanted this screenplay for 15 years!
 
Excellent. Wow, this sounds exciting, I'd love to have that original screenplay and wonder to which extent it differs from what finally made it in the movie.

Please keep us updated here in case you find any passages which differ from the movie, I'd really like to know it.
 
I'm really excited to see this screenplay too! I'd love to see some scenes or bits of dialogue that never made it into the film. I'm sure at some point I'll scan the screenplay in so I have a digital copy, so I could send it to anyone who was interested.
 
Steelbook for that classic 'Burbs nostalgia, but GODDAYUM, that new cover is amazing. I hope they make a poster with that. I would buy that in a heartbeat.
 
Holy crap! I think that mailman is Archie Hahn. He also had bit parts in Gremlins 2 and Small Soldiers. He had a bigger part in Eerie, Indiana as Mr. Radford(which Joe Dante was a consultant on and an occasional director). If that isn't him, it sure looks a lot like him.

EDIT: On his IMDB page he is credited as a voice over actor in The 'Burbs.

OK, then it's very likely that it's him. What does an voice over actor do? I mean, for which part of The Burbs could you probably need someone who is doing voice over acting?
