After his parents passed away he inherited their house. That’s why he’s able to recall what Hinkley Hills was like a long time ago, because he never moved. After inheriting a lot of money from his wealthy uncle in Texas he decided to quit his job as a grocery store manager a now enjoys the sunny days in Hinkley Hills.

Suzette:

Don’t ask me WHY I think so, but she’s a paediatric nurse.

Ray:

He works at a bank or an insurance company or something similar. He might also be one of these PricewaterhouseCoopers / Ernst & Young / KPMG guys where you occasionally have to take a week off in order to preserve your sanity (believe me, I know, what I’m talking about). He wouldn’t say he loves his job but being the dutiful person he is, he gets his job done very well.

Carol:

She’s a secretary. It’s a part-time job. She’s probably working at the same company Ray does.

Mark:

He was indeed in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 but conceals that he was a typist. Because of his jumpy manner (trembling when the nightly Vietnamese thunderstorms came / falling of the roofs in the camp and so on) he wasn’t highly respected albeit quite popular among the other soldiers. In 1987 he retired early due to his traumatic experiences in the bush. Afterwards he established a predilection for all the military gadgets he was never able to play with when he was still in the army since his only gadget was the typewriter. Only receives a small pension.

Bonnie:

A former Las Vegas showgirl. Well known for her ravishing performances. Very often performed for Dean Martin with whom she had been engaged for a short period. Dean paid her very well for pleasing him in the early 80’s. Most of the Rumsfield’s assets consist of the money she earned in that period.

Ricky:

Finished his last year at High School and intends to start attending the college in fall ’89 (Art and Art History). His parents wanted him to look for a job for the summer but by promising them to paint the house while they’re on vacation he was able to prevent this.

Walter:

Former landscape gardener. Married with Lucille Ball until she passed away in 1989. Afterwards moving from Beverly Hills to Hinkley Hills.

Dave:

Attending Hinkley Hills middle school. He’s the best pupil in the class but still no nerd. Plans to study astronomy one day since he enjoys sitting on the roof and watching the stars with his telescope on a warm summer night.

OMG! You're a mind reader! Last night, I was thinking about posting a topic about this very same subject. "Where'd you learn to do that?" lol

I don't know how to do this...*snap*

I always saw Ray as office-based. Maybe a salesman of some kind. Stressful and pressurised job, which is why he has taken some time off. That 'thing in his stomach' is irritable bowel syndrome. That's why he can't eat. Carol is a full time housewife.

I originally wanted to reply "I heard it from the succubus" but now that I've learned what the succubus is doing to men I have to distance myself from that.

quote:

In Western medieval legend, a succubus or succuba (plural succubae, succubi, or succubuses) is a demon who takes the form of a beautiful human female to seduce men (especially monks) in dreams to have sexual intercourse. They draw energy from the men to sustain themselves, often until the point of exhaustion or death of the victim.

According to the Malleus Maleficarum, or "Witches' Hammer", succubi would collect semen from the men they slept with, which incubi would then use to impregnate women. Children so begotten were supposed to be more susceptible to the influence of demons.

In some beliefs the succubi would morph into the Incubus with its newly collected semen ready to impregnate their victims. This was to account for the fact that demons could not reproduce naturally, however the incubus could impregnate women.

*Cough, Cough*

I think you are right on. I bet Ricky drops out of college his freshman year due to too much booze. I always thought of Ray as an accountant, but he does seem stressed. I bet Mark suffers from post traumatic stress syndrome, hence the sleeplessness and nighttime cigar smoking (I cut the quote back a bit to save space)
