Hmmmmm, we celebrate the day of our reunification with the former German Democratic Republic on October 3rd, although in my opinion it's not really a day to celebrate...

That's the first time in the history of this board that two people posted at the same time. A memorable day...
 
I do have a flag. A lot of Americans do. You guys don't? Surely you have a British, German, Norwegian, Australian, or whatever other countries are represented on the board.

although in my opinion it's not really a day to celebrate... why was the reunification not so good? I had heard that the East German culture had departed radically from the West during the Soviet occupation. Different work ethic? Economic burden of rebuilding what the communist government had neglected?
 
Today is a day when all my former military relatives get together and tell stories about their service. Sometimes it gets quite amusing.

Don't worry, that wasn't my femur that the dog dug up.

Were you aware that in England, we are often not allowed to fly the George Flag? The English Flag that is? Yeah, seriously. It might upset minorities and so we're not really supposed to fly it. Councils have totally banned the George Cross.
