I believe the final part of the zoom-in is actually a model of the street. The lamps are a little larger than they are in the rest of the film, plus the reflections in the Klopeks' windows and the tree don't look real.

Pretty darn good models though.

I'd love to own a prop like that.
I think it's also interesting that they commissioned Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) to do the special effects, the same company which is also responsible for the special effects of movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park.

I bet these props must still lay around in some basement.
