Have you ever thought of a good premise for a cartoon version of The 'Burbs? As a kid, I always had fun snooping around the neighborhood. So I was thinking of a Saturday morning cartoon from the perspective of Ricky Butler and some neighborhood kids.

The kids can spend a lot of time snooping around and annoying the neighbors - most of it at the expense of the adults. At the same time, the Klopek house would be the dark mystery.

Even if the story doesn't work out - I would love to see an exaggerated cartoon drawing of Art.

that would be great !
but there is the movie Monster's house....
it's like watching a prequel to the burbs, with the two young kids (who look like Ray and Art)and a strange house...

I loved to watch Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid. I don't know how it is in your countries but here in Germany the Saturday morning cartoon tradition has vanished long ago. You can't find a single Saturday morning cartoon here anymore. That sucks.

I'd love to see such a Burbs cartoon. It would certainly not be a cartoon in the epic league of "Bravestarr", "MASK", "Saber Rider", "Galaxy Rangers", "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" and many more. It would more likely be in the league of "Heathcliff", "Dennis the Menace" or "Camp Candy" but that would be alright with me.

I know it changes with every generation, but I think that fun Saturday morning cartoons (at least on non-cable stations) have all but disappeared. When I was a kid, even my parents liked our cartoons, and now none of us are very pleased with what's on.

I grew up with the "Kids WB" lineup in the 90s, and my favorite was definitely Animaniacs.

When I was a kid I looked forward to saturday morning cartoons. I love the Looney Toons.
