'Burbs Day 2014

It's coming up in less than 2 weeks, so start planning your day and share with the rest of us.

I looked up old 'Burbs Day threads and it seems 'Burbs Day is the 2nd saturday of July, that means Saturday 12th 2014.

Here's what I have planned so far
wake up and slurp some orange juice and then eat some eggs and sausage depending on if I have that thing with my stomach again.

Pack the car and head up to the cabin and maybe get one of those beef sandwiches on the way.

Fix the barbeque while drinking a couple hundred beers and smoking an occasional cigar, outside, and make som ribs for dinner.

finish off strong by watching The 'Burbs with the misses instead of waiting for that neighbour with the enormous head to get drunk and fall down the stairs again.

God I love this board!

Here are some things a person could do:
-Have ribs, pineapple, eggs, sausage, and dog food for breakfast.
-Watch your neighbors dog take a crap on someone else's lawn.
-Raise a flag in your front yard and salute it.
-Take your garbage down to the street and bang the hell out of it with a stick.
-Throw coffee at the paperboy.
-Ring your neighbor's doorbell, then run away.
-Write a note and slip it under your neighbor's door. Then repeat previous step.
-Ask the garbies if they picked up any heavy body shaped bags.
-Watch Jeopardy
-Tell a neighbor the story of Skip after remarking about the green sky tonight.
-Sit in front of your house and watch your street, hoping something interesting will happen.
-Paint your god damn house.
-Watch the 'Burbs.

I'm a night owl and an insomniac so I'm often up during the night. Quite often I'll just sit on the step in my front yard while my dog sniffs around the trees. And every single night I'm out there at 2:30am this same man rides past on a bicycle. It's an old fashioned bike and he rides it really slowly. He always has this weird hat on and turns to look at me as he passes. He also has a really weird red light on the back of the bike, like a neon strip that runs all around the saddle. He's probably in his sixties. Weekends, weekdays, rain, thunder, even last Christmas Eve. He's always there!

Every time I see him I get that spooky Burbs feeling, and the Ray Peterson in me wants to follow him to see who the hell he is and where he's going!

I've watch it twice in the past two weeks. Maybe would should make it 'Burbs Month.

Spooky. Can you try taking a photo of him maybe pretending that you are fumbling around with your mobile phone? LOL, I'm pretty sure the guy thinks the same the other way round: "Each time when I'm on my way to work there is this guy sitting on the step in his front yard, looking at me while his dog sniffs around the trees. The guy scares the crap out of me, I mean, isn't this guy sleeping at all?"

I was thinking the same thing the other day! He probably rides past to keep seeing if I'm always there. And I keep sitting there to see if he goes past. We're stuck in a loop.

Maybe if I hid behind the trash cans I could get a picture of him. Shame I don't have infra red night vision...

We'll drink a few hundred beers, fix the barbecue and mow our lawns for the 800th time.
