Cannibalism?

Okay, so I've noticed a lot of synopses of the movie online have labeled the Klopeks as cannibals...but other than Art's accusation of such, I never really saw any evidence to point to cannibalism in the movie (I mean, it's not like that furnace was exactly a pizza oven). I just wanted to know what everyone thought and if I've missed something all these years.

No, I don't think they were cannibals, just murderous psychopaths. I think Dr. Klopek liked pathology so much, that he didn't only treat it as a job, but as a home hobby too. As for the Knapps, they wouldn't give them the house, so they killed them. And one of the Knapps was still in the furnace, according to Dr. Klopek(at least one of their skulls was) and I don't think cannibals make it a habit to incinerate bodies.

Yeah, that's what I always thought, too...just wanted to make sure. I really don't know why people make that mistake so often.

Absolutely agree. I can also see no point indicating that the Klopeks might be cannibals. Those people who claim so should stop filling our heads with such half c0cked (yeah a have to write a digit or else it gets censored :) ) theories.

Well, what do you think they're eating in there, Ray? No one comes in, no one comes out...

Besides, Dr. Werner Klopek collects skulls...

They live on sardines and pretzels, of course!

Oh, and Demon, I see you have that cute little Hans with the red afro as your picture :)

In the alternate ending, Ruben told Ray that he was going to enjoy having him over for their final dinner.

Cannibalism? Nah

Would have a different vibe to movie for sure

Ray was on the giant BBQ grill during the dream sequence.
It was just his imaginatation but if you add the line from Reuben
during the alternate ending, wich is the first ending before the
reshoots, I'd say there is suggested cannibalism.

It's definitely an element of suggested cannibalism.

1. No one goes in, no one comes out. What do you think they're eating in there?

2. Ray on the grill.

3. Alternative ending with "final dinner".

4. Art's bloody Mary (made with human blood?)

5. Satanic paté
