Are we heading towards a "Terminator" future, or will AI help us save the humankind?

To your question, Pathologist: I do think there are certain dangers that we should not underestimate. A self learning intelligence might want to erase any danger that threatens its existence. And if it learns that mankind poses a danger the only logical solution for the AI might be to eliminate it. Sure, those who program AI will try to never let that happen. But if there a billions and billions of lines of code...I don't know, I'm not much into programming. But I do believe there is a potential danger.

Maybe I've been just watching too much Terminator, I don't know.

So I am a tinkerer and I was fiddling with some self hosted chatGPT Software. So this runs all on my computer and does't do any "cloud" stuff. I start with some 'Burbs knowledge as a baseline test.

tell me everything you know about he Movie, "The 'Burbs".
Certainly! "The 'Burbs" is a 1989 American horror-comedy film directed by Joe Dante and written by Dante and Ingrid Sertso. The movie stars Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, and Bruce Dern. Here's a brief summary of the plot:

A suburban couple, Ray and Mabel Kropotkin (played by Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher), suspect that their new neighbors, the Lunsford family, are killers after reading a magazine article about a serial killer who matches their address. The couple recruits their friends and neighbors to help investigate, but things take an unexpected turn when they realize that the Lunsfords might not be killers after all.The movie is known for its blend of horror and comedy elements, as well as its social commentary on suburban culture and paranoia. It was well-received by critics and audiences alike, and is still considered a cult classic today.
Is there anything else you would like to know about "The 'Burbs"?

Why did you lie to me about the Suburban couple from the Movie the 'Burbs? Their last name is not Kropotkin and Ray's wife is not Mabel. Do you know the correct names?
I apologize for any confusion. I must have made an error in my previous response. The names of the suburban couple in the movie "The 'Burbs" are actually Ray and Margaret "Meg" Ribble (played by Tom Hanks and Brooke Shields). Thank you for bringing this to my attention. My apologies for any confusion caused.

This AI straight up made up stuff and cannot be trusted.
