Crow, Garbie...Then What?

Me too! One of my new worst fears is that this place dries up. The Burbs is like medicine for my mind, and this place is also like a little dose of that same medicine.

Even if this place does dry up, we will always have the 'Burbs.

cue sentimental music.

Dries up? No chance of that now...

...it's been kind of slow in the start, but over the last year the pace in this place has picked up to where I can hardly believe how activity we actually have in here. :omg:

I wonder if there are any other films that are more than 25 years old with forums devoted to them that are still getting tons of posts every day?

I know Commando has a devoted cult following (I love Commando too, although nowhere near the level of The Burbs, obviously), but there can't be any/many that have this kind of activity!

Almost, but it's not as well managed as this place, for example it's very difficult to be a member there (I've tried, I'm a huge Goonies fan), there is a GOONIE fan forum:

http://thegoonies.org/BB/

Last time I tried to register was a few years ago, and I never got a confirmation mail, and the forum was flooded with spam back then, but there are a faithful bunch of Goonies in there that keeps the place alive, no moderators though....maybe they have fixed that now, this place (The Burbs) also used to have new-members issues etc...I remember it took me a while to get me into this board as it too had issues.

And there is a 3rd Movie fan forum that has a secret membership that I'm a member of ...he he... that one is related to the movie I'm not telling i visited that many times as a kid ;) It's a closed forum, but still alive.

Not as many members as in here, and barely active, but alive. Has about 1-10 posts a month.

The Burbs is a Super-Highway in comparison, so you're not missing anything.

I am however, as stated - a HUGE Goonies fan...

I'm a huge Goonies fan too. I might see if I can join that forum you linked to. I'm sure I'd never post there as often as I do here, but I'd still love to check in there from time to time.

Not meaning to slap my own shoulder but that was the time when I was contacting the Runboard staff in order to become one of the administrators of this community. Before it was only Art Weingartner and Bonnie Rumsfield but both were not posting anymore back then and no one could take care of that issue. So since this day I'm appearing as one of the 3 administrators on the homepage of this community :)

If they're no longer visiting this place, isn't it possible to replace the administrators with new people?

Ah, I see what you are looking for ;) I'm not so sure about a replacement since you never know if these people are coming back. Bonnie is the original founder of this board and I don't think we should just replace her (I don't think the runboard admins will do that). However, it might be possible to add a fourth administrator for this community. Just in case I get buried in some backyard or something like this happens.

Who knows, maybe Bonnie will turn up someday. Maybe she was just at the hospital all this time. No need to go digging up the neighbors yard to find her.
