Hm, good question. No, I don't think they make alternate endings on a regular base. I believe the ending you saw on the youtube clip was the ending which was originally planned for the movie. Afterwards they re-decided and took the ending which we have now.

Yeah, I'm also glad they took the current ending, I liked it that way. Everything else would have been probably too dark (they were thinking about killing Ray etc.).

I like the Happy End. :)
 
Hm, let's try to figure out more alternative endings. Is there already something that comes to your mind?

What about...(I'm just brainstorming)...in the end when Carol is sitting next to Ray the camera zooms behind her back. The viewer sees that Carol is holding a knife behind her back. When the police car with the Klopeks inside passes by Werner takes a close look at her. After Carol twinkles, Werner smiles. The car passes by. And as the camera shows Carol's face again we can see an evil smirk on her face. END.

Don't know, I like surprising endings and I think this would be a surprise. However, maybe again too dark?
 
I think the ending as we know it was perfect. i like Carol so i dont really want her made evil.im curious though about the garbage men scenario that they were found dead,. How did that happen? Was it filmed? Anyhow.. they ended it very well. The other ending seemed hokey to me. Maybe i have been preconditioned. Anyhow need a burbs fix and prob will watch it before Christmas.
