"You don't always have to be perfect. You should take life as it comes, like Art does and not worry too much about everything."
And so on.
So "The Burbs" indeed contributed in finishing my studies and make me the person I am today.

We're the burbanites, we LOVE to have our own lawns to mow, we love this life, being neighbors together, and hanging around with friends, it's a good life...people in the big cities doesn't have this kind of life, but I bet most of them...especially as they grow older...wants and dreams of a life like the people living in Hinkley Hills.
As you may remember from the welcome thread (I'm not sure if that was the place I wrote my story, pretty long one anyway)...but I also attribute the Burbs movie for bringing me where I live now.
I wanted everything they had in that movie...well...except the murderous neighbors of course
that's just a part of the movie plot, but there was an alterior motif behind the movie besides the plot, and that's what you have explained perfectly!
Even though I've just been a homeowner for 1 year, it has been the best year of my life, it's not Hollywood, it's not Malibu Beach, but it's awesome...
...this is my NEIGHBORHOOD - and GOD I love this street!
