We're coming up on The 'Burbs 33rd anniversary and Fangoria posted a 27minute interview with Joe Dante discussing the movie.

Thanks for the link. I'm happy they did this.

Of course hard core 'Burbanites like us already knew most of what was discussed, but it is always nice to hear another take on it. I guess I didn't know it was Imagine Entertainments first film.

I smashed the like button and did a comment to give them the props.

Thanks for that, Dave.

You can really tell that the interviewer is a fan of The Burbs. It's also nice that Joe takes almost half an hour. Much is indeed known, although I heard for the first time, for example, that Tom Hanks and Rick Ducommun had certain tensions on the set. Also, I'm not even sure I knew that Bruce Dern's "9 on the tension scale" was improvised. I'll leave a comment and refer to our community here, a little self-promotion won't hurt. :escher:

I do feel like Joe slightly dismisses the 'Burbs a bit at times and doesn't look at it as his finest artistic work. I don't see any 15 year old dedicated Gremlins fan forums out there!

Oh and Yes, I forgot to add that an neighborly ambassador should leave a link to the Biggest 'Burbs Fan Neighborhood in the Universe in those comments. Thanks!
