As proposed and seconded, have you guys found any subtle references to other films/events in the film that may have been overlooked previously?

There is, of course, the Roselli Plumbing truck that passes the window during Carol's lecture, Gremlins, etc, but what may not have been previously mentioned that you noticed?

i dont think there's anyhing that hasn't been mentioned?

lmao but i do remember, in the first couple of seasons of LOST, they had some similiarities. xD

Probably not. This should be revisited if you ever find something, though. We have probably discussed all the references we know about - that we know about. What else may be out there? Did you know the music that plays in the opening scene where Ray comes out in his robe and Rumsfield is standing in his window looking at him is from Patton? Another Goldsmith score.

Affirmative

What do you think about this:

The cartoon that Dave is watching at the beginning of the movie is "The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg".

A short excerpt from the plot:

quote:

Felix is handing out relief, thanks to a goose that lays golden eggs. The evil Captain Kidd sees the goose and breaks into Felix's house to get it. He brings the goose to his pirate ship.

He breaks into his house...

Too farfetched?

I don't think it is too farfetched. That is the kind of subtlety you find throughout the movie - like when the Roselli's plumbing truck goes by the window. It happens so fast that if you don't know it's there you will miss it.
