It comes to a dead end where it widens out to allow cars to turn around. Looks like a cul-de-sac to me.
How Does Your Street Mirror Mayfield Place?
Wow, that's an extremely long cul-de-sac...LOL! They're usually much, much shorter than that but it does indeed look like it was constructed in cul-de-sac fashion.
Hmm.. how does my street mirror Mayfield Place....I guess it doesn't in too many ways. Most of the homes all look about the same and were built within the last 10 or so years. There is one house, however, down and across the street that has a large flagpole in the front yard, just like Rummie's. Also, that same street that intersects with mine leads to a dead end. It really is just a dead end that they haven't developed further and not a cul-de-sac, but it's as close as I can get. I fully expect them to annex the street to the new shopping area they're developing someday. Also, the neighbors on the opposite end of the street are rather nosey and watch people all the time. I'd say if anyone was going to get on roofs and climb over fences to spy on people it would probably be them. I have a major problem with one of my next door neighbor's dog (who bears a striking resemblance to Queenie) always crapping in my yard. I'm getting ready to staple his ass shut! The neighbors who live directly across the street from me are rarely seen (and we've discussed this on my street in the past). You hardly ever see them except for the occasional departure or arrival directly to and from the garage. You never see them outside the house at all to check mail or anything. No visitors. I have no idea what they eat over there. As for me...well, I've lived here for a very long time but have yet to do much about my yard. I do plan on fixing that this year tho. So.. I guess my street resembles Mayfield Pl in more ways then I thought...LOL!

I'm gonna staple his @ss shut!
^^ Thank you both. That is my street but I've always referred to it as a Dead End (The "Seznick house" is not there) even though the sign says No Outlet. I wanted an objective opinion though, so thanks.
Other than the cul-de-sac the resemblance to Mayfield isn't that obvious anymore, though I it did mirror Hinkley Hills when I was younger. I believe thats one of things that makes The Burbs brilliant though, the fact that the 'adults as kids' angle of the film and the 'half-c0cked theories' part of the plot are easily identifiable with everyone's childhoods growing up in the burbs.

Yellowtangerine,
Anything new with that derelict house in your neighborhood? Any weird noises at night, green lights?

I was dying (no pun intented)to post this image of this house four blocks up from ours.
Everytime we pass it,I imagine Hans coming out on the porch to survey the surroundings.
I had to pick a gloomy day to take this shot because the sun does'nt do it any justice.
This is Floral Park,Long Island,N.Y.
I've photoshoped the address out to protect the innocent.
Sorry for theses lame attempts to get an image in but I'm a crow!http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/575116360Pylnxg

He comes over here to smoke cigars, his wife won't let him,he doesn't know I know that.
I'm happy the pic got through,I have two other angles of the house but thats not going to happen tonight. It's a Nor'Easter on Long Island for the next 3 days and I don't need to go up Plainfield Ave until Saturday.
Whoops I gave you the location-maybe you'll buy the house and do Floral Park a favor.
A fix Me Up in our town would cost no less than $399,000.00 I've never seen a for sale or for rent sign on this property. For all We know -the Klopeks are holed up in there!
Meridian1 LOL!

This really looks interesting. It's Klopek style but not in a shabby sense.
Walter, I have your dog.
It may be of historical value but If I can photoshop uncle Rubin in the upstairs window,it would be hysterical!
That would be hysterical! Go for it Mr. Meridian, YES!
Run to me, run to water!
Last night we passed the house on our way out to dinner and I pointed the house out to my wife and said look, nobody goes in nobody goes out.On our way back,we saw a sillouette going in the front door with no lights on not even a porch light! Now the wife thinks I may not be as crazy as I seem.It was a pretty creepy sight seeing this house in the dark.
