I Have Returned

I just stopped back to tell you that everything on Runboard will eventually be https. So when http stops working, add the s after it.

I got it to work! YAY!

I had uploaded another image to here http://imgur.com/00pQ0sq

But it still didn't work. At least for me. So I went back to that tinypic one and went to see if there was an "s" in the url and there wasn't but there was a "raw image" pathway and I used that one and it worked!

This was the raw image: image

Okay so now that it's working (until tinypic goes down as they're saying - I will use that for now) so that's out of the way.

I am glad you got it.

But I was planning on making a music video for The 'Burbs and I finally did it. I mentioned it when I was here last time. Or sometime in the past when I was here. Well here is the final result:

I hope everyone likes it.

I just wanted to say, good job on the video! :D

Edited to embed the video here:

Thank you so much! I had this idea for it for quite some time. Finally got around to it. The song is from the year 1986 so it predates The 'Burbs by 2 or 3 years.

You're welcome!

I don't recognize the song, and I'm not even sure if I've ever seen The 'Burbs, but that song and those scenes you chose go perfect together!

Have you done a lot of videos like this, or was this a first? It doesn't seem like your first.
Oh no, it's not my first at all!

Here's my ultra main youtube channel, and I've done other music videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMuze12/videos

My crowning glory was the song Dancing Queen by ABBA set to an episode of my favorite TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys called 'And Fancy Free' which I tell about in the description. The Bonnie & Clyde video was another one of those things that after seeing the movie, it just jumped out at me. But then these songs I listen to all the time so this sort of thing happens.

I see these stories in the songs and vice versa. The video for The Bride with the song Total Eclipse of the Heart was also another one that just radiated some elements from the original Bonnie Tyler video, with the curtain blowing in the wind through the windows and such.

The Bride as a movie itself, was okay, but to be honest I didn't like the film's leading characters as much as I liked the "Frankenstein" monster and the dwarf. Their relationship was genuine and I think was the better story within the main story. Their charisma was sublime and they were real whereas Sting's character and the bride's character just had superficial tones. They didn't seem as real.

So I have some pet peeves about The Bride movie, but it sure lent itself to the Bonnie Tyler song in spades.

I can't say I have a favorite, because these were all inspired works. But the Hercules - Dancing Queen that was uploaded 7 years ago now has over 24,000 views.

So I think that determines which video youtube seemed to like the most LOL!

You know, I actually talked about making this Burbs music video when I first joined, and I believe I even mentioned the song too. But I never had the time prior to all of this before.

I have returned and with the gift of a new music video, almost a decade ago when I first mentioned it! :p

I was more of a Xena fan, but watched Hercules, too, and vaguely remember that dancing scene. That song was a good choice for it, although I admit that I hear 'Time of My Life' in my head when I see it.

Wasn't Herc's dance partner played by the same actress who played Gabrielle's sister, Lila? Of course, I recognized Michael Hurst, too. :D

I like what you did with The Bride, too. :D

I subscribed to your channel so I can find it again and watch more of your videos in the near future. :D
I absolutely adore Xena: Warrior Princess! And yes that is the same actress that plays Gabrielle's sister Lila that's in the Herc ep.

Do you remember the Bitter Suite ep of Xena? They really knocked it out of the park with that one. A musical episode but they made it work because it never strays from the Xena formula.

The gripe I have with the show was how it ended. Season 6 was not as good as the previous seasons. Hercules never jumped the shark, so I guess that's why I have more fondness for it. But nobody did what Xena did, it was phenomenal.

Thanks for the sub! :)

Don't be surprised about the long duration of time between videos. I do plan to re-do all of them because I had really shitty software at the time of making those and now I have somewhat better software for doing this sort of thing.

I have other videos in the queue waiting, like the song Every Day by Stevie Nicks set to the mini-series Tin Man and I Can't Seem To Make You Mine by The Clientele set to A Passage To India.

I am a master of obscure things...

And aahhh...Michael Hurst! I love that guy! And Kevin Sorbo, and the late Kevin Smith...

I really miss all of those times. :(

My pleasure! I look forward to watching more of your videos. :D

Yes, I remember The Bitter Suite. I was never into musicals before, but I really enjoyed that episode, as well as the musical episode of Buffy.

A lot of people didn't like FIN, and there are things I didn't like about it, either, but I liked how they passed the torch (or chakram, as it were) on to Gabrielle.

It's an interesting coincidence that you mentioned The Bride and The Tin Man. I've been watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix, and am currently watching S3 E2.
Yeah I mean, the ending was highly produced, there weren't any technical flaws really, it's just the story was so damned depressing and there are whole articles on Whooosh about how contrived it really was.

Tapert in the beginning made good decisions like keeping Joxer as a main stay, but this was imo a bad decision to kill off Xena.

Yes Gabby was a successor but it was a brutal way to do it.

LOL Tin Man (being a sort of off take of The Wizard of Oz) was a very strange story but once it got to the point where it reveals what had happened, it really unfolds and you feel so sorry for them. But the story of Tin Man himself was so heart-wrenching.

If you ever hear the song Every Day by Nicks, it echoes what happens in Tin Man deep inside the two sisters. And of course anything by Nicks is going to have such visuals in the words.

I love the way she sings that song. So full of longing.

It would be perfect for a Xena video too, come to think of it...

BTW I added this board's link to one of my blogs on the side where the list of Movie Clips is (outside the Muze12 and Nackendara) which is growing long.

It's funny you should mention Whoosh. I ran Kym's message board until 2005, when I left it in Joxcenia's capable hands so I could pursue other interests. Whoosh's Staff page is a little outdated, but this was me.

Maybe we crossed paths at some point back then?

Jox is now a global admin at Runboard, but continues to keep the light on at the Whoosh board, and created another one here at Runboard.
