In Walter's house in the kitchen there is a calendar above the telephone. Is it June? Or what do you think?

This is quite important. We had many, many discussions years back as to when the burbs took place. We debated 'this and that'... bees, hot weather etc...and I think we decided June or July for our burbs day.
 
one of the things i've always wondered is why havent Ray shown Art the tools he got from Carol's father for xmas, like.. before? it could be that they've been put away for the winter and then he forgot about it until he took them back out in the garage..
 
Exdellent - Another clue. That would mean that the 4 hours of driving on the tollway in heavy holiday traffic refers to the 4th of July (US Independence Day) - making the movie take place at the end of June. What do you think?
 
I think when we originally (2000) tried to figure out 'forensically', almost, as to when the movie took place and therefore when to celebrate Burbs Day, we concluded late June or early July.
 
I agree with Mayfield669. Holiday traffic could be refering to July 4th.
