Watching the burbs now.. i noticed in one of the early scenes there is a man walking passed the Walter. Its when the gas truck is near by. Did anyone else him and who is he? Whats the meaning of the truck? im thinking theirs allot more symbolism here.

Interesting, will take a closer look at this next time I watch The Burbs.

Its fast. He looks African American. Not sure if its a blooper . A random extra that walked passed wile filming and they l;left it in or its a hidden message kind of thing or what.. he walkd passed Walter.

It might be the dude living in the house between Rumsfeld and Walter

Just had a look. It looks like it's the man from the ChemLawn truck. I don't think I've ever spotted him in that scene before. For anyone who wants to see him, he walks past Walter about 1 second after Rumsfield says, "One of the huns came out of the cave."

The whole truck thing was to cover up a gap in the cul-de-sac, I believe. You'll notice there's never a clear view of that "corner". Even in the shot from beside Hans at his front door, the view to that part is cunningly blocked by the tree.

Edit: actually, I just skipped to that part, but it's the truck itself that is blocking the view. The tree must be in another scene, unless I imagined it.

Edit 2: Okay, so there are clear views of that corner. I must have thought the truck didn't make much sense when I watched the movie during my formative years!

The black guy is the Chemlawn employee, he wears the uniform with the truck logo and is holding a tool.

And Rays Yard, no thanks on the brownies we all know you dropped them on the porch.
