I wish the bluray extras had something about the post office guy.
He was only visible on a lobby card i guess.

Rumsfield is wearing the kaki cap he is also wearing during
the workprint alternate scene, the one when he breaks into Walter's house.Ricky wears also the same outfit from that scene.

Nothing that i can remember from the script too.



 
I totally agree. I'd love to see some of the deleted scenes which usually must have also featured the post office guy. However, obviously the scene in which he participated didn't contribute much to the story :)

The mailman is played by Archie Hahn, who plays bit parts in a lot of Joe Dante's films. If you've ever watch Eerie, Indiana(show directed sometimes by Dante), you'd recognize him as the fake Mr. Radford.

If you look on IMDB he's listed as a voice actor for The 'Burbs, not sure for what because obviously his scenes were cut.
 
Why does it look like Ricky is wearing lipstick in that picture? lol
