This guy has an awesome collection going for him.

Some gems at 2:09 and 11.00.

This is amazing, look at all these rare collectibles.

Excellent Collection!
Just like a real video store, with all the boxes facing out.
The Goonies vinyl record
The 'Burbs vinyl record
I'm a little jealous...

WOW that looks like the video store I rented movies from in 1994, that was the year I first rented The Burbs and was instantly a fan for life.
Off topic question, what year did you discover The Burbs? Did anyone see it in the theater?

I watched it for the first time when I was 8-9 years old, that was in 1993-94. I've never had the chance to watch in the theater.

Consciously, I only remember seeing the film from 2004 onwards. Certainly, I have seen it before, sporadically when it was on television. But I know that the film unfolded its magical effect on me only in 2004. I was annoyed by the university, stressed by my student job, everything was somehow too much for me. One evening I took this old video cassette out of my closet and just watched it again and it had an almost therapeutic effect on me. Finally I could laugh again and relax. I thought of myself in the sunny neighborhood of Hinkley Hills. From then on, things went better, the university progressed better, I accepted a new student job.

I'll continue to derail Pathologists fine thread (cool video by the way!)

in the mid 90's my best friend had just a few tapes in his collection and the 'Burbs was one (tremors and "Let it Ride" were the others) We wore those tapes out and heavily quote all movies to this day

It is also a "comfort movie" for me to. Can watch it anywhere and do often times when travelling for work and feeling homesick or any general anxiety.

Also in this same comfort category for me is the TV show 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' and the TV show 'Red Dwarf'. Can watch anywhere and they always help to ground me.
