Unfortunately here in Germany they don't air Jeopardy or something similar. We had it in the 90's and I really liked watching it. But back then I didn't use pen and paper.
I just realized after watching that scene for a billion times they have the pen and paper like they are writing stuff down. I've watched jeopardy or many other shows with questions for prizes and have never had the urge to get a pen and paper and write stuff down....

This makes sense! I argued with a friend who thought they were writing down the answers. If you have ever watched jeopardy you know there's not enough time to write down on paper before they move on. But $ amounts on correct answer makes sense!
