Rick Ducommun has passed away

That's terrible news! RIP! You will be missed!
 
It was a night just like this that it happened.
What happened Mr. Weingartner?
Rick Ducommun passed away.

I agree Ray, June 12th we celebrate Rick day, I do have other proposals for this days name, I spent a couple hours thinking of these, literally

'Wake up and smell the coffee' day
'Rick rang the doorbell and ran' day
'Big day for the bachelor kid' day
'Slightly Eccentric' day

If we get a few more proposals for the name we can have a vote, what do you all think?

I absolutely fine with re-naming it like this. Maybe without the "day" at the end because we already have a "day" in there? So it's just the "Big Day for the Bachelor Kid"?
 
I had no idea Rick had died. I came to the forum tonight for the firtst time in a long time and saw the post. Devastated. He is such a big reason why The Burbs is what it is.

Art, Ray, and Rumsfield behind the trashcans in the rain is my favourite moment from any film ever. Rick in that scene is how I'll remember him.

Big day for the bachelor kid, celebrated every June 12th in honor of Rick Ducommun. I vote for this :)
 
That sounds good to me too.

A day of fridge raiding, crow shooting, neighbour snooping, and running from bees!

I was really sad to hear this. I, like all of you here, grew up watching The Burbs and having it being one of my favorite movies. He was in many other great movies too. I'm a musician and was in the middle of recording a song I wrote when I heard the news and decided to name the song after Rick's character, Art Weingartner in memory of him. Here's the link if anyone is interested in hearing it. It's a peaceful instrumental song.

I just found out of Rick's passing last week.

As a fan and fellow Canadian I'm saddened.

Ducommun was the 'Burbs for me.
