Sicko

For me (being 16 and everything), my health care is great. I'm insured 80% through my Dad's work and the rest of it is cover by the Oregon Health Plan through my Mom.

My 23 year old sister has decent health care, they paid for her delivery, circumcision (ouch) of the baby and the hospital was great, it had everything there.

I don't know... I'm not that conscious of the subject yet. I will be when I'm about to turn 18.

Thats really ODD. We were having this discussion at work. Me and the health visitors and speech and language specialists. We were talking about the Americaqn health care system. Louise (speech and language) said where she'd just got back from was okay. That was.................................OREGON!

The U. S. Health care system is far from broken. The problem lies with the unfortunates (don't read that wrong - I am not blaming them) who don't have insurance furnished through their job and who are under 65. Even then the hospitals cannot turn you back if you can't prove you can pay. Insurance premiums here are so high that you have to have your employer supplement the cost, which many do (almost all white collar jobs and many blue collar jobs - one of the problems is that many McJobs pay so little that the employees opt of the insurance even if it is offered). The reason insurance premiums are so high is that hospitals crank up what they charge the insurance company as a means to write off debt from the uninsured.
