I think it's a pretty cool video. I mean, today, the schools aren't trying to teach children..they're trying to get them to pass the tests.

Thanks Bonnie for the video!I have never heard of Sir Ken Robinson...I sure did like what he had to say though.Your right about the test thing too. Here in Ohio it's all about the OGT(Ohio Graduation Test)...

Schools not only kill creativity, they chop it up and bury it in their back yard. You are very fortunate if you have a couple of teachers who encourage innovative thinking and creativity in your whole educational career, but I don't think the problem is with the teachers, I think it is with the system - just like Bonnie and Nocternal said. The teachers have to teach to the tests.

Work is the same way. You are fortunate if you work for a company that will allow you the luxury of innovative thought for problem solving. If your solution is outside the box, it is deemed trash by close minded people with no imagination. IMO - sorry for the soapbox.

I quoted what you said, because I agree with you...

Yeah, I wasn't meaning to rag on teachers. They are as stifled as the students are. How can you inspire kids if you have no leeway to be creative yourself because you have to teach to the tests?

the discussion here kind of reminded me of this movie.
