This recipe doesn't seem to have much to do with "The Burbs" but for some reason it seems to be dedicated to "The Burbs" since it is called the Classic 'Cul de Sac' Mac 'N Cheese:

http://www.tbs.com/stories/story/0,,714||,00.html

Furthermore it's placed under the "Dinner and a Movie" section. Maybe we can find some more Burbs recipes?

I remember that show. They would show a movie and cook a related dish (although I don't know that mac and cheese has anything to do with the Burbs). They showed the Burbs and then broke away from time to time to show you how to make the macaroni and cheese. They should have made ribs.

You know, Carol really cuts Art down with the next line - and he just ignores it. I suspect he is used to that from Carol by now.

They ignore each other.

They're incompatible...he takes Ray off to the basement to 'play canasta' or he interrupts Jeopardy to take Ray over to spy on the Klopeks...

Just for the record, I think the idea of a Burbs cookbook is not only hilarious but quite brilliant. I mean, look at all the food references/scenes in the movie. Everything from animal crackers, cookies and brownies to ribs, pizza and dog food. Ok, I guess we could be going a little overboard with the dog food. Point being we're a pretty creative bunch and I'm sure we could throw together some appropriate recipes. What we lack we could always make up like they did on Dinner & a Movie. I wonder what it would cost to have a small scale publishing run?

I'm all for that.

So... A-Z

Animal Crackers
Apple (Dave's)
Beef Sandwich
Brownies
Cookies (Walter's)
Eggs (Ray's)
Ice Cream Treats
Knackwurst
Lemon Phosphates
Pineapple
Pizza
Pretzels
Quarter Pounder
Ribs
Sardines

Let's compile and exhaustive list...what did Ricky Butler and his g/friend have on the porch?

Yeah, Bonnie has come up with a winning idea.

We should leave out dog food.

But include

Coffee
French toast
Gremlins (cereal)

Knackwurst from Hell
Satanic Pâté
Blood Shake
Klopek Krackers & Sardines
Tunaneck salad
Carol's Coffee
Pizza Dude Pizza
Bonnie's Brownies
Walter's Cookies
Sugar Substitute
Maple Syrup (I figured since Art threw an empty bottle back in Ray's fridge it's a needed commodity)
Beer (enough for a couple hundred glasses)
We could include a nice beef stew that had the appearance of dog food. :P
