Just took my dog for a walk (yeah yeah took the dog for a walk)
Anyway, I got to thinking as I walked...I could develop a super cool Burbs Board Game.
The layout would be Mayfield Place, with plastic buildings and lamp posts, Klopek's tree etc you fasten in slots. You then have the characters you move around the board.
Every 6th square is a "Queenie Dump" square, whereby you have to take a Queenie card. Basically, these are negtive cards. e.g. "The foreigners are moving around again making a racket. You go out barefoot and tread in a Queenie dump - back four spaces" or "You're trying to take a nap. Art runs up and lays some bad karma on you - back one space" or "You have that 'thing' in your stomach again - the paperboy throws the paper straight in your gut. You're winded. Miss a turn"
But there is also a set of other cards: These are called "Green Light Cards". These could be anything. e.g. "You need to get into the Klopek's but the powerline is stopping you. Art steps up and cuts the power to the whole street! Advance 3" or "You need to do some snooping around. Your wife decides to take dave out for the weekend. Forward 5 paces". The possibilities are endless.
Objective? I dunno...be the first to get round the board avoiding pitfalls and Queenie Cards and get into the Klopek's basement and find evidence strong enough to convict. There could even be several small pieces of evidence (a femur...wig...etc) that when you win them, you then have to go to a spinner. The spinner is shaped like a pentangle and this is divided up into 12 parts. 9 of them say 'Fail' 3 say 'Convict'.
You could also collect pieces of food (featured or mentioned in the movie) along the way and when you have 4 pieces you can choose to send someone back to the start.
What do you think?
This could develop my burbanite pals...
