I've never understood why Mr. Hanks won't acknowledge his very own performance in that movie, it's one of his best performances ever imho.
It's not up there with Philadelphia, but it's imho. better than cast-away & many others he's been in. Personally I like it better when Mr. Hanks keeps himself to comedy. Why oh why...do actors always have to switch to some "serious elitist-artsy-fartsy" roles later in life?
It's like Director Steven Spielberg, at first he makes GREAT adventure movies (something he absolutely ROCK at together with George Lucas) and then he goes off to make those artsy-fartsy-all-sensitive-crap later on...
People should stick to what they're good at.
