What's up?

Arcade games didn't have stereo Sound til the early 90's. I sold tha tone too and the new one might have a Soundbar and subwoofer
 
Remember...

...arcade games is ALL about the experience. Whatever gets your customer to sacrifice their precious coins...just for another round of amazing gameplay and visual experience.

It's kind of like going to the movies. If you're gonna spend 10 bucks on a film...you want it to kick ass. If it sucks...you're gonna feel ripped off.

One of those games that made me feel worth the money was the Star Wars game that you actually sat inside of a cockpit, it was awesome, and I even dreamed of it in my sleep. The graphics was simple by todays standard (Vector graphics without shading) but the sound was kick-butt and the immersion was total!

Yea, my girls do enjoy playing the arcade games. Some favorites of theirs is Congo Bongo, Ms. Pac-Man and Puzzle Bobble. I sold most of my "real" arcade games, and only have Puzzle Bobble and Contra now.

I jail broke my iPad and installed an app called iMame4all. It plays most arcade games. I do have some ios stuff though. Atari Anthology and Midway Arcade. They have some good oldschool games.

The one I'm going to build will have all the games on a PC, so I will also have games like Fix it Felix Jr. and Robot Unicorn attack which I'm sure they will enjoy. It will have a trackball, so they can play angry birds and pinball controls for The Pinball Arcade.

Indeed totally awesome. I'll consider jailbreaking my ipad, too. Until now I was kind of too afraid to mess up my system with it but I guess it's pretty safe. And if it's the only option to play roms on my iPad I guess I just have to try it.

Or I just buy an electric garage door opener and install it.
 
There's scorekeeping website called Retrouprising that let's you re-live all the arcade classics. They even have retro console stuff too.

If you're not a technical individual, this site is perfect. It's a highscore tracking site, but you don't have to post any scores if you don't want to, and you can play the games anyways. They beauty is, that to prevent cheating and keeping a level playing field, they have all the games at their end. All you need is 1) an account on the site and 2) an IE or Firefox internet browser

We had a great time at the amusement park. It was nice weather, 23 degrees celcius and the sun was out all day. It was the last weekend they had open, there were next to no quests in the park. Most rides you could get on emidiately. The big rollercoasters had about a 5 minute line.
My oldest daughter turned 6 this july and was now tall enough to try some of the bigger rides. Last year the park got this really fast rollercoaster (80km/h) called Juvelen (aka The Jewel). I tried it last year and I found it a bit extreme, but my daughter insisted on trying it. You sit on these ATV looking things, strapped in with a safety bar ofcourse, and you have to lean forward to grab the handlebars. She could barely reach. She was all stretched out.
The look on her face when it went 0-80km/h in about 20meters :D She's such a badass. After the ride she didn't know whether to cry or laugh but when I told her how badass she was and asked if it tickled her stomach she laughed and wanted to go again.

That was the biggest highlight of our trip.

The month of Halloween is closing in fast. Have any plans? Do you decorate your houses?

No plans concerning Halloween for me and I don't decorate anything. Here in Germany Halloween isn't (yet) as popular as it is in other countries.
 
Halloween is really catching on here in Denmark. Retail is a big part of that. Each year they bump it up with stuff to buy. Sale of Pumpkins have exploded, and we don't even have a tradition for celebrating it here??

I don't mind though as it's my favorite time of the year. We talked about throwing a halloween party this year but the housewarming party drained our savings account 8( Maybe next year.

We will definitely carve pumpkins with the kids. We did it last year, my 1st time, and the results were great.

Popularity in Germany increased in the last years as well but it's not the case yet that many people are actually "celebrating" it. You see a pumpkin here and there but it's nothing fancy. Hm, one of the stores close to where I work has this pumpkin soup which tastes great. Sorry, that just came to my mind :)

Here it has come to the point where kids dress up and go trick or treating. Atleast in my old neighbourhood. Bars/clubs have dress up halloween parties, and I know a few people who throw halloween parties.
Some, not a lot, also put up decorations on their property, and it sets a nice mood. It's still weird as halloween is not something that is celebrated here, but I still like it.

Forgot about the pumpkin picture. Will see if I remember today.

Yep, here in Sweden too.

I have to prepare with candy to give the kids around here every year...I have to...seriously...that's an integral part of Suburbian living, I don't want to come off as the old-geezer cheapskate that doesn't have anything to give the little buggers when they ring my doorbell.
